Newsletter Collection, Alumnae Association of St. Luke's Hospital
School of Nursing, #4783, Rush University Medical Center Archives,

founded in 1864. In 1885, the hospital founded the Training School
for Nurses, also known as the School of Nursing (SLHSN). In 1956, St.
Luke's Hospital merged with Presbyterian Hospital to create
Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital, located on Chicago's west side. The
nursing schools and their alumni associations merged at that time,
also. The Alumnae Newsletter included alumnae news, marriages,
births, and deaths. The newsletter was published several times a
year, monthly in some years. Some issues feature stories by alumnae
of their nursing experiences in other cities or countries. Some
earlier issues are missing, but a complete run can be found in this
collection from 1908 to 1960.
